Good day all
I have backgroud as business process analyst with no technical background in coding. while doing the business process path in servicenow was thinking why not do the implementation path and learn something new instead of being process analyst. for folks who have the experience how is to start training for CIT for none developer (no coding) is it realistic doable what is the effort required?

could you review the abbreviation? CIT is supposed to be CIS, right?
If you talk about CIS ITSM, then you don't need to worry, if I remember correctly there was no question about scripting or coding, the concept of that exam is for non-technical audience as well.
Imagine some managers taking this class, it is to understand the process of ITSM, so it is more focusing on what is incident, change, problem, knowledge, or request.
Who can create/edit/delete such records, what are the states and lifecycles of them.
E.g. difference between
- incident
- something is broken,
- goal: restore ASAP
- request:
- i need a new laptop,
- goal: is it justified request?
- approval,
- delivery
And similar things, no coding at all. Not even CAD have any extra difficult coding questions...
Don't forget that ServiceNow is becoming less and less code oriented every day. There are many low and no code capabilites, so you can do pretty good stuff even without a single line of code (sometimes it's inevitable) but not impossible!

Yes, BPC is a good career. I started my journey as a BA and am now working in BPC and platform work.
For someone starting in BPC, the first thing is functional knowledge. You need to add more products to your portfolio and learn the product functionality, such as ITSM, CSM, or HRSD. Spend time understanding how they work functionally, rather than at the technical/code level.
