Need an advice! CAD or Human Resources (CIS-HR)? Can HR Implementor certification land me on job?

Hello, I have been learning Servicenow for almost 2 years, got my CSA a year ago. I am working toward my CAD, pretty much learned everything. The thing is: I have Social Work background not Software development, which means I have little disadvantage for applying as an Application Developer.

Considering my background, I thought HRSD gonna be familiar for me. But when I checked job boards, I don't really see HRSD implementation jobs. Even though it's too niche, should I aim for HRSD implementor?

Any advice and ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Akhyerkye

As a trainer, I’d say it totally depends on your interest. Since you've already prepared for CAD (Certified Application Developer), I would encourage you to go ahead with it—you’ve already invested time, and there’s no harm in completing what you've started.

After completing CAD, you can look into HRSD (Human Resources Service Delivery). Just to give you a heads-up: HRSD is more focused on HR-related work such as onboarding, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle processes.

So, if you’ve worked on something similar or have an interest in this area, then yes—go for it!

Hi Akhyerkye

Great that you are doing training and certifications! I would recommend you to use your knowledge to build something in a PDI, which you can use to demonstrate to employers that you not only have the knowledge, but you're also capable of implementing solutions. In the process of implementing your projects, you will also strengthen everything you have learned, and you will have some experience to talk about during an interview.  You can put your projects on GitHub to work as a public portfolio, which you can invite interested employers to take a look at. Best of luck to you!

Best regards
