Need Interview Guidance for Associate Technical Support Intern at ServiceNow

Gaadham_Nikhil
Giga Contributor

Hello ServiceNow Community,

I'm preparing for a technical support engineer online assessment for an internship role and would love some guidance. Can anyone share study materials, tips, or experiences of this assessment?

Specifically, I'd appreciate insights on:

- Key concepts to focus on
- Common assessment questions or scenarios
- Any recommended study resources (docs, videos, practice exams)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Nikhil

Hi Nikhil,

Focus on:

  • ServiceNow basics (navigation, roles, lists).

  • ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request).

  • Platform fundamentals (tables, business rules, client vs. server scripts).

  • Troubleshooting (logs, errors, workflows).

Expect scenario/multiple-choice questions like: “Incident not resolving, what do you check?”

Study from:

Tip: Don’t just memorize, practice in an instance, and explain your reasoning clearly. Check out mindmajix.com for sample scenarios too.

Go through ServiceNow fundamentals on-demand course

https://learning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/now-platform/certified-system-administrator-csa-learning-path...

If you have scripting background, go through scripting and development concepts as it would help you during interview

https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do#!/learn/courses/zurich/app_store_learnv2_scripting_zurich_sc...

Make use of your PDI to full extent to practice what you learn as hands-on would be the most essential part of your learning phase

Register with ServiceNow University and go through course contents.

Developer learning plans are easier to understand the modules compared to official documentation and would recommend to start learning in phases, start with New to ServiceNow and later ServiceNow Administration followed by ServiceNow Application Developer,

There are lots of YouTube videos available depending on your topic of interest and thousands of useful blogs available in ServiceNow communities. Hi @Gaadham_Nikhil ,

You should be well aware about the concepts of ServiceNow admin so create account on servicenow university.  Create a PDi and practice on that - You should cover all platform core features like- User management, ITSM modules (Indcident mgmt, Problem Mgmt, Change Mgmt, Knowledge mgmt, Service Mgmt) Reporting, Dashbaords, Catalogs, workflow etc.

Starting point should be from Servicenow University:-

1- Welcome to Servicenow Course

2- Welcome to ServiceNow Micro Certification (Free)

3- ServiceNow Admin fundamentals (Required for CSA- Training is free but for voucher you need to pay - If you are in India, you can get 50% discount- go through the below article)  - https://www.servicenow.com/community/training-and-certifications/only-for-indian-students-csa-at-50-...

4- Once done then Start with Scripting [Client side, server side] for developer role.

Free resources for your journey -

1. developer.servicenow.com -- > Learn

2. Serviecnow University

3. Servienow Community - read answers given by experts and ask your queries here

4. Youtube channels like- Learn&GrowtogetherwithAtulG (CSA Batch 16) , SAASwithservicenow, Basico Servicenow etc

5. Once CSA is done - you can start developer journey with so many youtube videos.

Good luck and if you have any further query (Once you start definitely you will have multiple queries) so you can ping any of us. Being a servicenow Trainer, will be happy to assist you.

I was informed that for the role of Associate Technical Support Intern at ServiceNow there will be 4 rounds

Online assessment round followed by 2 technical rounds and then at last hiring manager round maybe its a type of HR round.
can you help me with the first round i.e., Online assessment round.

I was told that this assessment will contain 6 sections and they could be on any of these SQL, JavaScript, Linux, Cloud and AI awareness, logical &  comprehension, Service Now Platform and/or CS fundamentals.
could you help me with what type of questions will i get, How do i learn, Will JS be related to ServiceNow like on Client Scripts or Bussiness Scripts and help me with technical rounds information also.
Each round is an elimination round.

Thank you for your time.
