Why is the blacklist option on the Software Model instead of the Discovered Model? It seems strange to make us have to do more work to identify things we want to blacklist?

If you don't have a matching discovery map you will need to create one that meets the criteria you are looking for on that particular software model.
Discovery models with predefined suites are indicated in the Suite defined field. A value of Yes indicates that the discovery model is a suite parent.
If the discovery map has a lifecycle definition defined, those settings are automatically populated in the Software Model Lifecycles related list.
You can verify which discovery models get mapped to the software model by clicking the Show Matching Discovery Models related link.
If the Publisher and Product fields are empty, the values are automatically populated according to the discovery map.

That is a design feature. If you would like to see additional functionality here, it would be worth discussing with product line management.

On expiring software models - since the model is a version of the software, it seems that we would often be upgrading people to the next version. The book does not do a step by step walk through of how to elegantly do this. I would think we would want to create new entitlements for the new version and allocate those to the existing users. THEN we would push the upgrade to them, then inactivate the old entitlement. Is that close to correct?

Hi Tracy Miller,
I know it's been a while since we finish the workshop. However, can you please send me the labs required resources (.xlsx files) so I can complete the labs. I would really appreciate your help.
I'm trying to get certified on SAMP.
Thanks,
Sam
