ServiceNow Administration Advanced (Xanadu) Lab 1.2.1 Step E

This step requires me checking sys_properties.list and then change the value to true for  glide.db.clone.allow_clone_target.

The issue is I need a Target instance as I am learning Cloning in SN. I have looked everywhere I can including the KB Inkling and now learn. I cant find another instance log in.

I have also tried changing the setting in my PDI but I cant as its not permitted by SN.

I need help to move forward. 1.jpg

Hi @QalbeK

Technically, you should receive the target instance URL either in the eBook or in some Knowledge Base (KB) article. Did you check those places properly?

I don’t have access to the lab materials right now, but you might want to recheck the instructions in the eBook, KB, or any official communication to verify.

Hello,

So I found a solution and I dont know how but I was playing around with the instance URL. the URL contains "prod" when you open instance via On demand course Dashbord "open my instance" "Wake up my instance".

So first step is to open instance via the link mentioned above.

Once done, change the "prod" with "dev" and it will ask you to sign in. Use the lab sign in credentials shared with you in your email for the same module. in my case "ServiceNow Administration Advanced On Demand (Xanadu)"

Now you have two instances. one production and one developer. You can finally complete the Clone lab.

Glad it helped, mate! Please go ahead and close the thread.

To complete your lab, please follow these steps:

1. **Instance URLs and Credentials**: Your course provides two lab instances (DEV and PROD). The URLs and credentials are embedded in your course materials and are not provided by an instructor. Example URLs:
- DEV: `https://nowlearning-nlinst02576151-5agxv-consumer-0001.lab.service-now.com/`
- PROD: `https://nowlearning-nlinst02576151-5agxv-publisher-0001.lab.service-now.com/`
- Username: `admin`
- Password: `8dhVZ6Q1fPCt`

2. **How to Access**: Use the **Open My Instance** button or link in your course to launch the lab instance. This will display the required URL and credentials. If the instance is hibernating, please wait 20–25 minutes for it to become active. Refresh the page or clear your browser cache if you encounter issues.

3. **If URLs Are Missing**: Navigate to the "Lab Instance Settings" or "Course Materials" section in your course to find the URLs. They are pre-configured for your course and do not require instructor intervention.

4. **Expired or Inactive Instances**: If your instance is expiring or not working, use the "Terminate Instance" or "Request Lab Instance" links on your course page to request a new one.

5. **Lab Completion**: You only need to complete at least 80% of the tasks to pass the lab. If you meet this threshold, you can proceed to subsequent tasks.

6. **Further Support**: If you continue to experience issues, refer to Knowledge Article KB0010586 for detailed troubleshooting, or reply to your case for additional assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and complete Lab 1.2.1 successfully.
