Hello ServiceNow community,
In the ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals On Demand (Xanadu) Ebook, Lab 3.2.1, section 1, step 4, it says:
No such notification appeared for me.
Additionally, I seem to be in the "global scope" even when I select the "Incident Management for Service Operations Workspace" scope
Restarting the instance is undesirable, as several labs have already been completed.
I would be willing to restart my instance if I could manage to have it automatically update to lesson 3.2.1. Is this possible?
Thank you

Hi @HarryChilin
You can't restart your instance or automatically move to Lesson 3.2.1. You need to complete each necessary lab to proceed. Also, you only mentioned what isn’t appearing, but didn’t include the exact instructions or steps you followed to reach that point. Don’t worry—just follow the instructions carefully, and you’ll be able to complete the lab successfully.

I did not include the preceding steps as I assumed the ServiceNow support team would have access to the Ebook related to this learning.
Additionally, the course advocates for following instructions rather than making a support case when the instance doesn't work - I understand that. But the second screenshot points to the exact function for changing the scope of the edited form from global to something specific (in this case Incident Management for Service Operations Workspace) not being functional. No amount of "do it correctly" is going to circumvent this problem so I reached out for help.
Finally, on the subject of restarting the lab, I would terminate the instance and start a new on - surely that would count as "restarting", but I'm concerned there isn't a way to populate an instance per lab as, if the instance decides to have a problem again in the future, I would have to start all over. This is, as indicated, undesirable.
How do I "add a field to a form" when that form is locked to "global scope", and the "set an application scope" window does nothing?
Thank you

Hi @HarryChilin
Atul:We’re not from the support team, mate. We’re community members helping each other, and we don’t have access unless someone on our side is doing the course."
Atul: The component is showing that it belongs to the Global scope, but you're trying to make changes in the SOW scope — so the error is expected.
Atul:Yes, if you terminate the instance, you’ll need to start from scratch.
Atul: Change the scope from the native view, and then go to Form Layout or Form Builder."

My apologies, I thought that asking ServiceNow for help would prompt assistance from ServiceNow. I appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Unfortunately, the problem persists. I will need to make a new instance and restart the coursework.
ServiceNow should update either their instructions or their learning instance so this doesn't happen again. I hope that starting over will fix the problem, though I could be walking into repeating this issue. Still, it doesn't hurt to practice more, I suppose.
Thank you. This "ticket" can be closed.
