**This course applies to Helsinki and earlier releases. For Istanbul and future releases, see this document.**
ServiceNow Foundations Course
Module 1: Introduction and Overview
In Module 1, you will get an introduction and overview of how to interact with and navigate through this Foundations course.
In Module 2, you will take a closer look at the welcome screen and home pages by role, as well as the content pane information formats.
Module 3: Navigation and Search
In Module 3, you will navigate using filters and breadcrumbs and learn about right and left mouse clicks. Finally, you will look at the five different methods of searching in ServiceNow.
In Module 4, you will learn what you can see and do as a ServiceNow End User.
In Module 5, you will learn what you can see and do as a ServiceNow ITIL User. An ITIL User has all of the capabilities of an end user but can also investigate and handle incidents.
Module 6: System Administrator
In Module 6, you will learn what you can see and do as a System Administrator. As a system administrator you have all functionality of the ServiceNow platform.
Generally Supported Web Browsers
The Foundations Course Modules are supported on recent versions of most major browsers, including Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer.
If you have any further questions or would like additional information about our ServiceNow training curriculum, please do not hesitate to contact ttraining@servicenow.com.

Hello SNFan,
Thank you for your interest! Generally, we try to make our Foundations online training release agnostic, meaning, we try to provide core information that will be relevant and useful to users of our platform, regardless of the release. That being said, we generally update the content within the next quarter or so after a release. We are currently working on our print content for Helsinki and will update the Foundations online modules as necessary once those are released.
Regards,
Diana

Hi Diana.
So the on-line training won't be updated for Geneva (going straight from Fuji to Helsinki)? We're just starting our ServiceNow implementation (on Geneva) and I'd like to start pointing users to this foundation course. Is the Fuji-based content likely to cause any confusion to new users starting out on Geneva?

Hi, when you are done with the modules, it does not take you to the next module. Also, after I am done with all six modules, there is not completion report or completion certificate to note your are done? How does my profiles get updated to note I completed the modules.

Hello tsimonelli,
Each module has its own URL link. You may click on each module to open the training in a new browser tab or window. And no, there is no certification provided upon completion of our Foundations training.
I hope you've enjoyed the training!

Hello jon@fq,
Thank you for your interest in our Foundations online training. The Fuji UI is definitely different than Geneva, but basic concepts remain the same.
We will be updating the Foundations modules to Helsinki, not Geneva. We try to keep our Foundations training release agnostic, meaning, not dependent on the releases but more conceptual on what the platform provides.
Have fun during implementation!
Regards,
Diana

These are available when you book onto the System Administration course. This can be delivered physically or virtually, but both are instructor-led, not self-paced non-interactive.

Sure would be nice to see UI16 and something a bit newer than FUJI. Don't get me wrong, it's better than Berlin but when we are using Geneva and Helsinki soon, my new users would be lost.

Above, Atul Kumar told Shriram, that the Foundations Courses shows how much percentage you have completed on each module.
I just finished my Foundations course, making sure I was logged in, and completed all the quizzes using my Chrome browser, and it said I was successful.
However, I do not see anywhere where it indicates the percent complete. Where would I find that?

Hello all, I have a question for service now training. As I am new for this and I don't have much idea for SN. Please let me know, if I want to make my career in SN then is it required to be from programming background ? I don't have knowledge of programming but I want to make my career in this. Please advice me. Thanks in advance

Could you clarify what you mean by "my career in SN" - do you mean a position employed in ServiceNow, the company? Or do you mean a vocation working with ServiceNow, the platform?
Either way.. do you need to come from a programming background? Definitely not. Most functionality in ServiceNow requires very little programming knowledge - if anything, the tools at your disposal are very business-oriented and almost make any programming knowledge pretty redundant.
For what it's worth, I teach the Sysadmin Course and out of 3 days there is a half-hour section on areas where scripting is used, and I give a 5-minute brief demo to show anything's possible through scripting, but not everything requires scripting. Most people on the course are team leaders, configuration librarians, project managers, process consultants... there's very few programmers around (or they just avoid my courses).
Definitely look at a sysadmin course as a first taster. It's actually more "instance configuration" than "system administration" - you don't really perform tasks traditionally associated with being a sysadmin, more tasks required to reconfigure and setup an instance to support business needs.

Or you could take an hour and just watch them online. Unless you literally live on a plane, in which then I could see your issue.

What kind of information do you seek? A list of ALL training courses available, or more details of the 6 modules mentioned above?

Hi,
Each module should take anywhere between 5 and 12 minutes:
Module 1 ≈ 5 mins
Module 2 ≈ 8 mins
Module 3 ≈ 8 mins
Module 4 ≈ 8 mins
Module 5 ≈12 mins
Module 6 ≈ 6 mins
Thanks,
Taylor

Taylor... is it possible those timings can be added next to the links in the original article for future reference?
I've had some students mention they've not had the time to review the videos... but I feel if the duration was made more obvious they'd find the 5-10 mins required!

Hello,
We are well impressed with the videos, great job
I am wondering if it would be possible to have those on offer for our fulfillers the first time they log on to the system and make them watch the videos before they can get down to do anything else. I know I am a brutal 😉

LOL that's an interesting idea! You can definitely make that part of your own internal training program, but I will bring that up with our teams at ServiceNow.

Many are, depending upon the customer.
Generally public courses are delivered in the English language, and I've been abroad to deliver private courses in Denmark, Amsterdam, Germany and Hungary in English to an audience for whom English is not their first language.
However, it's not unusual to have a course delivered in Italy by a fluent Italian speaker, or delivered remotely to a German organisation by someone fluent in German. If there is a requirement for a particular language which suits all attendees, I believe our training team can try to accommodate that.
However, these videos are in English only!

Hello Diana.
I've been trying to take the Foundations training online and have not been able to access (or even see) the video links that are supposed to appear. I have tried all three popular browsers on two different computers to no avail. Can you help?
Thanks.
