Hi, I'm Ian Kerris from IBM.
I'm responsible for deployment and steady state support on one (and soon to be more) customers primarily in AN/Z. Have around 6 months experience with the platform as an admin at present.
Am here as we are in the process of deploying multiple ITOM components includingEvent integration at one of our customer sites so expect to be involved heavily in the deployment and upkeep ongoing so definitely need more skills around looking after it.
Outside work, it's very much weather dependent ; good days see me out on a motorcycle, average days maybe out with our retired greyhound and rubbish days see me sitting in front of a screen gaming. Throw in some live concerts there somewhere or other and that more or less sums up what little spare time there is. Except this weekend when it's Sandown!

Hey Everyone, my name is Andrew and I'm from Auto & General (Budget Direct Insurance)
We are located in Brisbane, but I'm working from home a little more west, in Ipswich.
I was hired about 6 months ago as a Systems Analyst as A&G were going live with ServiceNow ITSM. I've had about 2.5 years experience (with 2 ITSM go-lives, a few major version upgrades and a whole bunch of dev/admin stuff).
I'm doing this Event Management training as we are undertaking an "Advanced Monitoring" project over the next 6 months or so including Discovery (already live), Solarwinds, Event Management, possibly Orchestration and Service Mapping, and maybe even Operational Intelligence depending on value provided.
My take-away will hopefully be the ability to implement event management and prove the value of the tool to the organisation, which will enable us to invest more into ServiceNow.
Recent adventure... my go-to is usually parenthood as I have a 10-month-old son, but my family enjoys a day trip and we recently explored Mt Tambourine.
Looking forward to learning with everyone!

Hello,
I'm Emma-lee from Auto & General in Brisbane, and I work directly with Andrew as a Junior System Analyst. I've been working with the ITSM module since we launched earlier this year, originally in a Service Desk role.
As Andrew mentioned we're undertaking an 'Advanced Management' project as we further expand our use of the platform.
I'm looking forward to learning a bit more about Event Management to gain a better understanding in what we could possible achieve.
I recently spent a long holiday in Victoria and saw snow for the first time!

(I thought this had posted but can't see it, spologies if it pops up twice)
Hello,
I'm Emma-lee from Auto & General, located in sunny Brisbane, where I work as a junior system analyst.
We've just started implementing some ITOM components and Events Management is one of those that we will be exploring further shortly. Hopefully by the end of this training course I'll have a good knowledge of Events Management to help with our go live in October.
I've been working with Servicenow since our launch earlier this year, originally in a service desk role.
I recently went on a long holiday to Victoria and saw snow for the first time.

Hi my name is Yew Hoong Ng, located in Melbourne. Working for Servicenow as a Senior ITOM consultant, my 5th week here.
I am getting skilled up in all the SN ITOM products, with very little SN experience so far. Hope to understand how all the ITOM applications will work together. I have previous around 20years experience with enterprise management/application management working with CA/Tivoli/Netcool products.
Have 2 young ones is a great adventure in itself. Recent snow trips to Mount Donna Buang and Lake Mountain was great for the kids.

Hi all!
I'm Eddie from ANZ in New Zealand. My role is in the monitoring team - looking after various tools (Splunk, SCOM, Dynatrace etc) used for platform and application monitoring.
Why Event Management? Service Now has become our primary ITSM platform and the monitoring team are, probably, the number one producer of events so I need to get skilled up to understand what happens when these events reach Service Now.
My Service Now experience is a bit light - started using it as an ITIL user when we went live about ~4 months ago.
What is the main thing you hope to take away from the training? What's happening in the black box of Service Now once our monitoring platforms have sent in events before they become incidents.
