Hello All,
As I am planning to switch to ServiceNow profile from my current position as a system admin. I would like to know the level of JavaScript knowledge required for ServiceNow developer or Admin. With no code experience, what are you recommendations for you to get into the profile?
I welcome any course recommendations which will help me learning JavaScript for ServiceNow and any other resources as well.
Here are the skills ServiceNow asked for Senior Developer role
- Must have good knowledge of JavaScript libraries, add advantage if worked on Java, MySQL, LINUX & Splunk
- Good understanding and work experience in Web services, SOAP, email, etc.
- Good Understanding of ITIL v3 processes. ITIL Foundation & ServiceNow Administration certification good to have.
Thank you
Rajendher

Hello Rajendher,
A SN Admin will not require much of coding but definitely should have strong knowledge in ITIL v3 processes of different modules.
But if you are going for developer role, then yes coding is MUST. Along with JavaScript you also need to have knowledge of REST API and Database along with the knowledge of ITIL modules.
For JavaScript, you can try out courses on w3schools and Udemy. Once that is done then you can go to nowlearning.com and there you have many courses available for beginners. You can also request instance at developer.servicenow.com Go through the ServiceNow Fundamentals course which is a foundation course to become ServiceNow Admin.
All the best.

Hi,
I noticed there is another question by you where I have already replied to this.
In short, You need SQL knowledge (not specific MySQL) if you want to be a developer
Linux, not required at all unless you are working on discovery module where the server is hosted on linux platform.
