Which ServiceNow Certification Should I Pursue Next for Career Growth?

Hello Team,

I need your guidance on my next career step in the ServiceNow domain.

I have over 4 years of experience in IT Asset Management and IT Service Management, including experience with ServiceNow, ManageEngine AssetExplorer, and ServiceDesk Plus. My key areas include hardware and non-IT asset management, asset lifecycle management, CMDB data management, inventory reconciliation, and asset audits.

I want to advance my career in ServiceNow IT Asset Management.

Considering my experience, which certification should I pursue next: ServiceNow CSA, CMDB/CSDM, or Hardware Asset Management (HAM)?

Please recommend the best certification and practical skills I should focus on to advance my career in ServiceNow IT Asset Management.

My suggestion would be 

1. First Go for CSA.

2. if you are interested on coding  , go for CAD 

3. Next regarding implementation Specialist certification , First you should start with CIS - Data Foundation.

Note: The ServiceNow CIS – Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM) (CIS-DF) exam is a mandatory prerequisite for seven Certified Implementation Specialist certifications: 

• CIS – Discovery (DISCO)
• CIS – Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
• CIS – IT Service Management (ITSM)
• CIS – Service Mapping (SM)
• CIS – Security Incident Response (SIR)
• CIS – Software Asset Management (SAM)
• CIS – Vulnerability Response (VR)

4. If you want to  advance your career in ServiceNow IT Asset Management , you must go for CIS- ITSM.

5. Once CIS- DF , CIS-ITSM is cleared, Go for CIS- HAM if still you have wish to gain the knowledge and experience.

CSA - Mandatory

CAD - Optional

CIS - DF - Mandatory

CIS - ITSM - Mandatory

CIS - ITAM -  HAM - Mandatory
