Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has (or knows someone who has) worked part-time in the ServiceNow universe? The reason I'm asking is I'm in a full-time senior/lead developer role, but the workload is so light that I could easily do two jobs like this (or maybe even 3 if I could be bothered!). However, to avoid issues with formal approvals and conflicts of interests, etc. it seems that part-time would be a much safer option for the second role. Is it viable to find one though, do you think?

Hi there,
Personally I only do part-time roles as a freelancer, so having 2 or 3 customers at the same time. Because of the workload, dynamics within a company/team, maturity within a company/team, to stay fresh, etcetera. Easier would be full-time, though I would go nuts 😅.
Doing two fulltime jobs at the same time, for some companies/roles definitely in theory possible. Though I guess you are hinting on doing two jobs at the same time in a normal workweek because of the limited load? In the country I'm in that's defintely not allowed. And companies, tax authority, etc. would eventually find out anyway.
Kind regards,

Thanks Mark, that's interesting. I'm not sure if freelancing in the UK is a viable option - it seems to be either full-time permanent or full-time contract, I've never heard of anyone doing freelance (ok, I've seen one part-time contract which was for any 3 days a week, but they wanted an experienced Architect for an IT Support's daily rate, so hey...)
I don't mind doing more hours and even working over the weekend if there is stuff to do, but 2x full-time would be 70+ hours and even I'm not that motivated! (as far as I know, it would be legally ok though) - it would have to be more like "I'll do your full-time workload without fail or delay, but please don't check how many hours it's taken me or when I did the hours" 😅

Hi there - this is a discussion that is probably best had with your agency (if you are a contractor) or your line manager (if you are permanent) or your financial & tax adviser/ accountant (if you have your own company). There's several employment options but there's so many considerations (that Mark alludes to above) that this community isn't the best place to hold this conversation.
