I am looking for some information on how approving a request directly from an email does not require the use of a Business Stakeholder Licence. We are new to ServiceNow but i was told that this can be done which would be a large cost saving to us.
Any Help, Advice or Guidance would be gratefully accepted

Hi Amanda,
The question is in the wrong forum. Please try posting it in the ITSM forum and you should get more answers. The short answer to your question is email approvals require a license. The Business Stakeholder role includes the 'approver_user' role. This was a grey area previously but new contracts explicitly mention this. It is best to discuss this further with your Account manager as I have heard some contracts in the past have no explicit mention of email approvals requiring a license.
Technically, there are no limitations on applying the email approvals for non-licenses users but ServiceNow has ways of measuring email approvals in your instance. If they perform an audit, it will be costly. Hope this answers your question.
Regards,
Ayman

Thank you. This was very helpful for us to verify in our contract what ours states.

Hi Amanda,
Just adding on to ayman's response, in my previous company we got it in writing that we would not be charged for email approvals by non-licensed users, I'd recommend doing the same in this case and speak to your account manager.
Regards
James

HI @Jamesk can i ask what you mean by "email approvals" ? I am looking at this myself. We have hundreds of line managers who need ot approve certain requests and to give them a licence is just impractical.
