It seems our developer instance in Washington DC release is undergoing maintenance and is down for last 1 hour or so.
Is there any timeline on when that can be up?
DO we have any maintenance windows for dev instances and any email notification for the patches?
This is the error message -
Service Interruption: This instance is unavailable. If service does not restore promptly, please file an incident in the ServiceNow online Support Portal or contact Customer Support via phone.

Hi @IWSS
It looks like this is a common issue faced by multiple users, including me. I would not suggest releasing the unsynced instance right away. It’s better to wait until today, and if the issue still persists, then you can release the instance and take a new one.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hi @IWSS ,
If it is PDI then there will not be any support available from ServiceNow and no fix maintenance window. YOu can wait for few hours. If it is your Official Environemnt then you can raise a HI ticket (support ticket from HI Portal).
If my answer helped you, please mark it solution accepted.

Hi @IWSS ,
as you might know, there are no support available for PDIs, hence you’re limited to two options:
- wait, it should come online after some time.
- When you get tired of waiting, release your instance and request s fresh installation. Please note, any development that has been done and not backed up will be lost for good.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
Best regards

@IWSS ,
This is a normal issue and mostly occurs during data patching. In my current project as well, I’ve faced the same problem, and it usually resolves automatically within a few hours (3–4 hours at most).
Data patching refers to the process where ServiceNow applies updates or fixes to the underlying instance data. During this process, the instance may temporarily go down or become unavailable.
So, nothing to worry about — the instance should come back online once the patching is complete.
