i was receiving an error message stating "This scope is already taken by another application"  as i was creating an application and attempted to utilize different naming conventions of the scope, but still received the error. then i attempted to update to the patch version of my pdi and that kept failing. i had also released the 2 pdi's and nothing came to a resolve. by the time i requested a third instance, it allowed me to create the application and was updated to the most recent patched version. figured i'd share, as all previous comments to this error message did not provide a resolution for me. also, SNOW help center does not provide assistance with pdi issues.

It looks like this is a common issue faced by multiple users, including me. I would not suggest releasing the unsynced instance right away. It’s better to wait until today, and if the issue still persists, then you can release the instance and take a new one.
