We received an upgrade notification that we are required to upgrade to Washington DC due to the Xanadu release in Sept 2024. However, we have decided to upgrade to Xanadu but there are no release notes to be found?
Every time we will upgrade to one version behind to the latest version, currently we are on Vancouver, but this time we would like to go with the latest Xanadu release in Sept 2024.
Are there any potential issues we may encounter by upgrading to the latest version?
Any thoughts or suggestions on this matter?

Hi @navin14
Xanadu - RTP document will be release on 11th July and Xanadu available on PDI on 1st Aug 2024. After the general availability will be start. Date of GA is not open till now.
You can talk to your SN account manager for same and directly upgrade to X. once it is available.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

We also skip one upgrade a year and go to the current release in fall each year. X is not officially released yet so you won't find release notes just yet. There is no issue when you upgrade after skipping a version. There will be release notes specific to your current release, jumping a release and going to the current one. Release notes have come a long way and are broken out very well. You can view what plugins have changed, renamed or no longer current. You'll see all changes based on the jump in levels you are going to etc. What's new, what's deprecated and so on.
Some customers like to jump on right away when a new version comes out. Some are a little more hesitant and will wait a few weeks till one or two patches come out to resolve some initial bug fixes. Just depends on where you stand as a company.

Hi @navin14 ,
Please find the Xanadu Release Testing Preview (RTP) release notes, which provides some insights of the new version, but you should watch out for the full official release notes in some weeks.
https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB1646588
You may need to login to your servicenow account to access the above.
You should wait until the General Availability for Xanadu, which should be probably in early Q4 2024.
If my response has resolved your query, please consider giving it a thumbs up and marking it as the correct answer!
Thanks & Regards,
Sanjay Kumar

Hi there,
It shouldn't be an issue at all to go for Xanadu. Thing just is that if you are behind, ServiceNow will actively notify you and at a certain moment even schedule a upgrade. Though you can reschedule that if you want.
Xanadu itself, today is RTP release, August 1st is EA release, mid/end September is GA release.
Just out-of-curiousity, you did mention you always go for 1 release behind. Why?
Kind regards,
