Hi Experts,
We are doing implementation of HAMpro and part of that we have requirement to manage AV assets in ServiceNow. Reaching out this group as I've seen some blogs on AV Assets here and there is no information in ServiceNow documentation at all how do we do it. Hoping to get positive responses from folks who has realtime experience working them and suggestion/best practices advice from implementation perspective for below queries:-
1. Should AV assets be part of HAMPro vs EAM? We want to manage end to end lifecycle of these Assets in order to efficiently track them. how do we fit them into HAMpro and make maximum use of OOTB flows and HAM featur
2. What CMDB CI classes and Asset classes should be used to load/import them into ServiceNow?
3. What OOTB model categories should be used? Should we use just use one model category and keep everything in it? Or Use one model category as parent and have multiple child model categories linked to it?
4. From HAMPro licensing perspective which HAM resource category should be used for AV assets from the listed Monitor, Network Gear, Computer, Servers, Unclassified Hardware, Mobile Phone etc.? What could be the closest match from technology and lifecycle angle to be considered?
5. From Location perspective should we create Conference Rooms as virtual locations in ServiceNow to associate the AV assets from respective locations? Or use physical locations only? how best we could manage this in ServiceNow and able to correlate with stockrooms?
Looking forward to hear from AV legends who has conquered this realm. @Matthew Fearnle
