Yes this works for creating normal and emergency changes,, but you are saying I have to create a new template for an already created and approved standard change via this method. I think I'll dig further as this doesn't seem correct behaviour. than...

Thanks, yes the way you show is fine for Emergency or Normal changes as you can select the Type of change. However this does not work for Standard Changes, as the template is already created in the Standard change catalogue.
