How do I create a schedule for a Standard Change

I am creating scheduling jobs via System Definition > Scheduled Jobs > 'Auto generate something (a change, an incident, a ci etc) from a template' for normal changes, which works as planned.  This is so I can automate the creation of a change record from a template for the regular changes such as monthly patching.

However when i select a standard change template it is creating it as a normal change.  This is default OOB in Kingston, but I would of thought it should of created a standard change as I am selecting a standard change template.  There are no options within a standard change template to set the type as standard.  Any ideas on how I can get a standard change to be auto created via the scheduled jobs.

I've searched the forums but have not found the answer

Hi Rick,

Please note this s tested thing and so please try and test:

Suppose you want to create an emergency change using a  scheduled job. These are the steps:

1.Go to change-->click on emergency change-->now navigate to toggle template -->click on '+' to create a new template

2.Create a new template and schedule it.Whenver the job would run it would create the emergency change only, not the normal change.

NOTE:If you want to create a normal/standard/emergency change, then create the template on the respective type of change. Then schedule it and it would create that type of change only.

Thanks, yes the way you show is fine for Emergency or Normal changes as you can select the Type of change.  However this does not work for Standard Changes, as the template is already created in the Standard change catalogue.

Hi,

No you don't have to select the type of change while creating a template,it would automatically pick it up.

Try the suggested method and it would work for you.

Yes this works for creating normal and emergency changes,, but you are saying I have to create a new template for an already created and approved standard change via this method.  I think I'll dig further as this doesn't seem correct behaviour.  thanks anyway
