Major Incident Managment Lab Exercise to Create Outage - Can't create New Outage

Can't create a New outage. I'm logged in as MIM role. I have an incident that's open. I go under Related Records / Outages. I can't create a new outage. I can only Add an Outage. I tried to find this under the Application Manage (Outage) but won't pull up anything that says the word "outage". Any suggestions? I tried to use copilot to find additional steps but it didn't help.

Hi @Karta,

 

as per the OOTB ACL records, for the outage it requires to have one of these roles:

  • sn_incident_write
  • sn_problem_write
  • sn_change_write
  • itil

 

To verify this, in non-PROD environment, add one of these 4 roles to the particular user, clear cache and try it again. Eventually create a new user with any of these roles to spot any difference.

 

If your user from the test step above can create the Outage records than it was related to the missing create rights in ACL. If still cannot then it must be something else, let me know what you found to discuss this further

As you’re working on the labs, please check if you might have missed any of the steps mentioned in them or if there’s any role you forgot to assign. MIM can create or engage directly on the incident, so review your lab steps carefully and try again.
