Salesforce Integration Spoke need CSM?

My customer have HRSD, App Engine, Automation Engine. Do they need CSM subscription to integrate with Salesforce? Docs said Salesforce spoke need CSM plug-ins(Customer service, CSM Portal).

Now it even makes less sense. What is the issue you have and why are you, as ServiceNow employee, asking this on the community?
