Deactivated Taxonomy Topic Reappearing in Portal

Hi Team,

I'm facing an issue where a deactivated taxonomy topic continues to be displayed in the portal even after being removed.

Troubleshooting steps already performed:

• Deactivated the taxonomy topic
• Cleared cache
• Removed the parent topic association
• Resynced Advanced Portal Navigation

Despite these steps, the topic is still appearing in the portal.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or know of any additional configurations, caches, or sync jobs that may need to be refreshed to completely remove a deactivated taxonomy topic from the portal?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I am currently setting ESC taxonomy myself and I had similar issue just from the other way round :)) I struggled to have some topics visible after enabling them, adding connected content and syncing the hiererachy... basically the same steps you described, just to make something visible and not hiding it...

Two things that helped me:

1) impersonating for an end user, it "enforced" the topics to be visible while they were invisible even for admin.

2) waiting, sometimes I set the taxonomy, topics were not visible and when I accessed the ESC the next day it was there...
