Search in Microsoft Word add-in for ServiceNow Contracts

  • As a contract configurator, search for templates and clauses in the Microsoft Word add-in for ServiceNow Contracts.

    Before you begin

    Ensure you have configured the Microsoft Word add-in for ServiceNow Contracts add-in. For more information, see Configure the Microsoft Word add-in for ServiceNow Contracts.

    Role required: sn_cm_core.contract_config and canvas_user

    Procedure

    1. Open a document where you want to mark the content controls in Microsoft Word.
    2. From the Microsoft Word ribbon, select ServiceNow Contracts add-in.
    3. On the add-in login screen, enter the credentials of the ServiceNow instance from where you downloaded the manifest file.
    4. On the Templates tab, search for templates with a specific name or state by entering search text in the Search templates search field.
      Active templates in Draft or Editing state that match the search criteria will be displayed.
    5. Search for clauses ithat are either in the template or only in the clause library.

      1. Navigate to the Templates tab.
      2. Select a template.
      3. Go to the Clauses tab
      4. In the Search clauses field, enter the name of the clause you want to search.

      1. Navigate to the Clauses tab.
      2. In the Search clauses field, enter the name of the clause you want to search.
    6. Search for clause variations by name by selecting a clause with variations and entering the name of the clause variation in the Search clause variations search field.
      Active clauses that match the search criteria will be displayed.
