Create consumable assets in Enterprise Asset Workspace

  • Create consumables in the Enterprise Asset Workspace to track enterprise assets.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_eam.enterprise_asset_manager

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Enterprise Asset Workspace > Enterprise asset estate > Consumable.
    2. Select New.
    3. Select the type of the consumable and the model category from the Type andModel category drop-downs.
    4. Select Create.
    5. Fill in the details in the Create New Consumable page.
      Field Description
      Display name Name of the asset.
      Model Product model of the asset.
      Model category Model category of the asset.
      Parent The parent asset. When a parent asset is defined, the Assignment and State fields of the child asset are automatically populated based on the Assignment and State fields of the parent asset and are read-only.
      Quantity Amount of items the asset represents.
      General
      State State of the asset. The default state is set to Build.
      Substate Substate of the asset.
      Asset function The purpose for which the asset will be used.
      Planned for disposal Indicates if the asset is slated for disposal.
      Stockroom Stockroom where the asset resides.
      Location Location of the asset.
      Aisle and space The aisle and space in the stockroom where the asset resides.
      Expenditure type The type of expenditure. Choose from the following options:
      • Capex: Capital expenditure is a one-time expenditure, where the value is realized over the years. For example, a photocopier.
      • Opex: Operational expenditure is an on-going expenditure. For example, toners for the photocopier.
      Assigned to The person the asset is assigned to
      Cost Price that the asset was purchased for.
      Cost Center Cost center financially responsible for the asset.
      Asset Disposal
      Disposal order number

      A unique number assigned to the asset disposal order.

      Disposal vendor

      The vendor assigned to carry out the asset disposal order.

      Vendor disposal order ID

      Order number assigned by the vendor assigned to carry out the asset disposal order.

      Disposal date

      The date when the asset disposal order process is completed.

      Resold value Estimated cost the disposal asset can be resold for.
      Scheduled retirement Scheduled date on which the asset is retired.
      Resale price Value of the asset when it is retired.
      Beneficiary Organization that receives the asset when it is retired.
      Activities
      Work Notes Work notes related to the asset.
    6. SelectSave.
      The consumable asset is created and appears in the Consumable assets list.
