Accessing and Navigating the Goals Overview
To view a goal’s overview page, navigate through the ESG workspace by selecting Program setup > Goals. From there, you can select a specific goal to open its detailed overview. The page contains several key sections:
- Description
- Tracking
- Programs/Projects (visible when integrated with Project Portfolio Management)
- Risk and Compliance Posture (visible when integrated with Integrated Risk Management)
- Goals and Targets Hierarchy
Description
This section shows a concise statement of the goal’s purpose, such as "Aim to be 100% carbon neutral by 2025," helping stakeholders understand the intended impact.
Tracking
Tracking allows you to associate entities responsible for the goal and monitor progress through several informative summaries:
- In-scope entities: Identifies who is responsible and how many entities are linked to the goal.
- Goals summary: Provides counts of sub-goals, highlighting how many are completed, on track, at risk, or off-track.
- Targets summary: Displays total targets and their current status (completed, on track, at risk, off-track).
- Metrics: Lists metrics related to the goal, emphasizing those due within 30 days or overdue.
The tracking view defaults to a roll-up perspective, showing aggregated data across sub-goals, but you can filter to focus on a single goal.
Programs/Projects
This section appears only if integrated with Project Portfolio Management and displays projects and programs linked to the goal. It includes information about project managers and the status of these initiatives, facilitating coordination between sustainability goals and project execution.
Risk and Compliance Posture
Available when Integrated Risk Management is enabled, this section provides detailed compliance and risk insights related to the goal:
- Policy compliance: Status of compliant vs. non-compliant policies.
- Control compliance: Status of compliant vs. non-compliant controls.
- Risk profile: Risk status of the goal based on risk assessments.
- Open control issues: Number of unresolved issues tied to the goal.
Goals and Targets Hierarchy
The contextual side panel visualizes the relationship between the main goal and its sub-goals, along with their current statuses, helping users easily understand goal breakdown and progress at a glance.
Goals refer to objectives that an organization sets for itself to make an impact on their ESG initiatives. They help you to track your progress toward the material topics that you have identified.
When you create a goal, the overview page of the goal displays the summary of all the relevant information for the goal. To view the goals overview page for a goal, navigate to . You can then select and open the goal for which you want to view the information.

This section displays the description of the goal. For example, Aim to be 100% carbon neutral by 2025.
Tracking
- In-scope entities: By associating an entity, you can identify who is responsible for the goal. This section shows the number of entities associated with the goal.
- Goals summary: Displays the total number of sub-goals associated with the goal. This section also shows the numbers of completed goals, the number of goals on track, the number of goals at risk, and the number of goals that are off-track.
- Targets summary: Displays the total number of targets. This section also shows the numbers of completed targets, the number of targets on track, the number of targets at risk, and the number of targets that are off-track.
- Metrics: Displays the different metrics associated with the goal. You can also see the number of metrics that are due in 30 days and the number of metrics that are overdue.
You can filter the tracking section to view the data only for the goal. You can see the roll up view to view the data of all the sub-goals. The default view is the roll up view.
Programs/Projects
The programs and projects section only appears if you integrate with Project Portfolio Management. In this section, you can view the projects and programs associated with the goals. You can view the managers and states of these projects and programs.
Risk and Compliance Posture
- Policy compliance: The status of compliant and non-compliant policies.
- Control compliance: The status of compliant and non-compliant controls.
- Risk profile: Risk status of the goal based on the risk assessment.
- Open control issues: The number of open issues related to the goal.
Goals and Targets Hierarchy
In the Contextual side panel, you can view the main goal, the associated sub-goals, and their statuses.
