Emails stuck in “Ready” / intermittently “Processed” or “Ignored” when using Gmail SMTP

I have configured both inbound and outbound email in my ServiceNow instance using Gmail SMTP and POP3 with a valid app password, and email sending/receiving is enabled in properties. When I test using Flow Designer, background scripts, and notifications, email records are successfully created in the sys_email (Outbox) table and the flow execution shows success. However, the behavior is inconsistent: some emails remain stuck in “Ready” state and others are marked as “Ignored” without a clear pattern. I have verified that the recipient email addresses are valid and the configuration appears correct, but email delivery is not reliable. I am trying to understand why emails are intermittently not processed or ignored, and what is the correct approach to ensure consistent email delivery when using Gmail SMTP with ServiceNow.
