Issue with Default Workspace Dashboards Created in App Engine Studio

As of the Washington release (confirmed on 2 SN instances), it seems that new and existing apps with workspace experiences are behaving different. When I click a data visualization component to drill into a record from the home page dashboard, it takes me to the classic UI instead of a tab within the workspace. What's going on? How can I fix this? This did not happen in Utah. Thanks!

 

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a simple one table app in App Engine Studio

2. Add a workspace experience for the app.

3. Add a record to the table in the app.

4. Go to the workspace home page and click the default score widget showing for the record.

The record open in the classic view instead of the workspace.

Platform Analytics App id: sn_app_analytics_w  update resolves the issue. I updated to 4.2.2 and can confirm the issue is resolved!!

I struggled with the same issue for weeks and NowSupport was not helpful.

 

When I was at the Knowledge24, I reached out to multiple "Ask the experts" regarding this. Finally one of them pointed me to the App Engine Studio expert who confirmed this to be a product defect introduced in Washington. They could not provide an expected timeline for the fix.

 

The workaround they suggested is to use UI Builder to create data visualizations as needed and set the 'Link to Destination' event as shown in the attached screenshot.

@Lakshmi Royyala Thank you so much for responding! I also had trouble getting help from support on the issue. I will send them this response as further evidence and they should publish a known error article.

Thanks for the thread - we have been struggling with the same problem. The feedback from Hi support was that this was working "as per design", but clearly not. Workaround seems like a lot of effort - hoping this will feature in a hotfix soon.

You're welcome! I still have a case open with support and have pushed for them to get a problem record / known issue established.
