Set Agent Presence using AWA Agent API

I am trying to use the AWA Agent API to set the presence of a chat Agent to Available but am struggling to understand from the documentation what the contents of the payload should be. Has anyone got an example they could share please?
I can do it via a GlideRecord on the awa_agent_presence table as an alternative, but am thinking using the API would be better.
