Unable to Create App in App Engine Studio – Scope Already Taken (Backend Issue)

Hi ServiceNow Community,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with my Personal Developer Instance (PDI):

PDI ID: dev290988
Release: Xanadu

Whenever I try to create my first app in App Engine Studio, I receive this error:

“Unable to create this application. Go back to the create app experience and enter a different scope name. Details: Failed to create templated object, details: This scope is already taken by another application.”

### Steps I’ve Already Tried:
- Reset and wiped my instance
- Released and requested new PDIs (tried multiple instances, including Zurich and Xanadu releases)
- Tried unique app names with tokens, initials, and prefixes
- Verified my role as App Engine Studio Creator and switched to Admin
- Tried creating apps with two different Admin users

Despite all these steps, the issue persists. It seems like a backend issue with my PDI metadata.

Could a ServiceNow staff member assist by resetting or repairing the backend so I can create apps?

I really appreciate your guidance and any support.

Thanks!

Hi @Suprajk

PDI doesn’t come with support, so unfortunately, no one from the community can help. What you’ve tried so far is the best you can do at this point. You might want to leave it for now or try manually repairing the AES plugin
