Virtual agent message showing wrong counter

Whenever I reload the page on the employee service portal , the Virtual Agent button's message counter accumulates as if there are new messages, but there aren't

I have changed one system property  "com.glide.cs.advanced-chat-popover" to true for not open the chat bot aytomatically and add the "configObj.load_active_only = true;" in service portal chat configurations
