Hi - apologies if this is the wrong forum - I am a new user.
We are looking to upgrade to the Advanced risk module - we had a demo from the re-seller, what they displayed was a 4 x 4 scoring matrix. We use a 5 x 5 matrix - the re-seller said they would have to do some chargeable configuration work to make it 5 x 5. After looking around this Service Now site, it appears the baseline is already 5 x 5. Could someone please confirm if this is correct?

Hi ,
Yes, the baseline configuration in ServiceNow Advanced Risk already supports a 5 × 5 scoring matrix.
In the out-of-the-box setup, risk scoring is based on Impact and Likelihood levels, and both of these typically have five levels each, which naturally forms a 5 × 5 risk matrix (25 combinations) used for risk scoring and heatmaps.
These values are controlled through Risk Criteria, where you can adjust the impact and likelihood levels and their scoring. Because of this, organizations can modify the matrix according to their risk framework without heavy customization.
So if your reseller mentioned that moving from 4 × 4 to 5 × 5 requires chargeable configuration, it’s possible that the demo environment they showed was configured as 4 × 4, but the standard baseline already supports 5 × 5. In most cases, it just involves updating the risk criteria configuration, not major development.
You may want to double-check this in the Risk Criteria configuration in Advanced Risk to confirm how the matrix is currently defined.
