Group roles management

I have added a user to the Project Manager group which has project manager role, but that user has already individual project manager role assigned earlier.

Do we need to remove individual role ?

Does ServiceNow charge for having same roles for single user ?

Hi @Balakrishna_ABK ,

 

The best thing to do over here would be to remove the role which was assigned seperately & let it come from the group. This way whenever a user gets removed from a group the roles will also be removed automatically,no manual maintenance.

No - You should not get double charged for the same user having the same role twice.

That being said, the recommended practice is to tie roles to groups and put users in groups. You do not want to manage users roles by group AND those granted directly to the user. I would recommend checking out this User and Group Management Leading Practices document from ServiceNow.
