Questions on Instance scan vs health scan?

1. Which scan is preferred? Why?

2. Which scan has more KPIs/definitions?

Based on the docs I read, I feel that Health scan is better as it as huge collection of definitions (~1200 definitions OOB) in contrast to (~300 checks/KPI's OOB) in instance scan.

Let me know your thoughts on above questions
