Hello. I added a new configuration with the objective of displaying the new record in the service portal header and I am not getting the expected result. Please review the attached file. First photo is the record definition and the second photo is the portal home page where I am hoping to see the outcome.

The only configurable menu item which can be added to the topmenu, is the "More" menu item. All others: sub menu.
Here with I mean with submenu (the image does not contain any taxonomy since I don't have that on this instance, so only a menu item is shown)
Kind regards,

Hi there,
This is Employee Center right (seeing the application scope)? In that case: such is not configurable out-of-the-box with the Employee Center header. You could add it to the submenu.
Ofcourse with customization you could achieve this. Though that's up to you to decide.

Thank you for the feedback, Mark. Yes this is for the employee center. I see the configuration and I believe others have done it. Are you referring to the employee center header menu when you indicated sub-menu?

Again, in the top menu this is NOT possible. The menu items will be applied to the submenu. Thats just how Employee Center is setup.
Still you can (so perhaps that is what you are referring to that others have done?) though that's a matter of customizing the header. You can do so, do that involves more time and you need to maintain the header widget (which is updated frequently with upgrades).
