Upcoming Upgrade from Xanadu Patch 9b to Zurich Patch 1 – Plugin & Feature Review

Hello All,

We are planning to upgrade our instances (Dev, UAT, and Prod) from Xanadu Patch 9b to Zurich Patch 1.

As part of the upgrade preparation, we are reviewing the currently installed plugins and applications. According to the Zurich release notes, this patch introduces several new features, including enhancements in AI capabilities, UX Core, UI Builder, Flow Designer, and more.

We would appreciate your guidance on the following points:

  1. Plugin Upgrades:
After upgrading our Dev instance, do we need to upgrade all plugins listed under app upgrades? Is it possible to selectively skip certain plugins?

  2. Skipped Records & Customizations:
Once plugins are upgraded, we plan to review skipped records and retain necessary customizations. Are there best practices or tools to assist with this?

  3. MID Server Impact:
We have both Windows and Linux MID servers. Will the Zurich upgrade affect them in any specific way?

  4. Cloning Process Changes
Are there any changes to the cloning process introduced in Zurich?
  5. Feature Compatibility:
How will Zurich’s new features interact with or impact existing configurations from Xanadu?
Are there known compatibility issues or migration steps we should be aware of?
  6. Deprecated Plugins & Knowledge Base:
Could you please point us to a list of deprecated plugins and relevant KB articles?
If any deprecated plugins are currently in use, what is the recommended approach to handle them?

Thank you in advance for your support and insights.

Hi @CV1 ,

Upgrading from Xanadu Patch 9b to Zurich Patch 1 means you should review and apply required plugin upgrades (though you can defer optional ones with careful dependency checks), leverage the Upgrade Monitor and skipped record compare tools to reconcile customizations, validate that your Windows/Linux MID Servers pass pre upgrade checks and will be auto upgraded post instance upgrade, be aware that cloning settings, credentials, and MID identity may need cleanup post clone, anticipate how new UX/UI Builder, Flow, and AI features interact with existing configurations (and check for deprecated plugins in Zurich’s plugin changelog), and for any deprecated plugin in use plan migration to its replacement before disabling it....
