How to populate Multi-Row Variable Sets (MRVS) with ATF in the native UI?

I am working on an ATF test for a catalog item that uses a Multi-Row Variable Set in the native UI. I need to add multiple rows of data to the MRVS, but I don't see a standard ATF step for this, unlike the Service Portal steps (Add row to multi-row variable set (SP)). What is the recommended or most effective way to populate an MRVS for a native UI catalog item using ATF? Are there any standard workarounds?
