Growing up and adapting to change
Twinkle Sharma was born in Naya Nangal, Punjab, but she moved from city to city as a child due to her father’s job. As Twinkle explains, being on the move and attending multiple schools made her good at adapting to new environments and learning about new things. Those are skills she has put to good use on her journey to becoming a Senior Technical Consultant at a ServiceNow partner in Bangalore.
Rising to a new challenge
Twinkle graduated from university with a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering and joined a multinational corporation. After a few months, she was selected to work on the company’s ServiceNow team. She says she found it challenging at first because she didn’t have a computer science background, so everything felt alien. But her interest began to blossom as she explored ServiceNow and listened to customer pain points and how ServiceNow could solve them.
Building new skills to fuel her career
Twinkle’s passion for ServiceNow grew, and she became a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA). Spurred on by the success, she’s gone on to become a Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) and a Certified Application Developer (CAD), and her ambition is to become a Certified Technical Architect (CTA). Those skills and Twinkle’s hard work, adaptability, and ability to solve customer problems have catapulted her into her current role as a senior technical consultant, and she currently has her sights set on becoming a solution architect.
A career with a purpose and an ambition to grow
ServiceNow has had a huge impact on Twinkle’s career. She says that she started out without a clear direction, but ServiceNow showed her the way. And it isn’t just about her job. Twinkle is a passionate participant in the ServiceNow Community, and has recently become a ServiceNow Rising Star in recognition of her contributions. According to Twinkle, the recognition she gets from happy clients and the community has boosted her confidence and has made her even more ambitious to grow her ServiceNow career.
Twinkle’s advice for new ServiceNow professionals
Twinkle shares the following advice for anyone who wants to build a fulfilling ServiceNow career like she has. “ServiceNow can be overwhelming at first, but once you understand the basics, everything starts to fall into place. Pick your area of interest and dive into it. For me, it’s the ServiceNow portal and how it can deliver amazing experiences. As you find your area of expertise, every customer problem will become an exciting challenge. It is for me, which is why I love coming in to work every day.”
