Removing Standard Changes from Employee Center

Hi folks. We noticed we made a mistake during our initial ServiceNow rollout by including a page for Standard Changes in Employee Center. Employees can go to the Employee Center page, click on "request something" and then they are brought to a page that shows catalog filters. Standard Changes are listed at the bottom of that menu. How do I remove Standard Change from the list of available catalog filters?

Hi,

If Standard Changes should not be available to employees through Employee Center, first check whether the Standard Change catalog items are being exposed through the catalog/category configuration.

I would avoid modifying the OOTB Employee Center widget just to hide this one entry.

Instead, check the following:

  1. Identify the Standard Changes catalog items under the Service Catalog and verify which catalog/category they belong to.
  2. If they should not be available to employees at all, use the appropriate User Criteria on those catalog items to control who can access them.
  3. If the items are required for fulfiller/admin users but should not appear to normal employees, make the visibility restriction through User Criteria rather than changing the Employee Center UI.
  4. If you're using the Employee Center taxonomy experience, make sure Standard Changes is not connected to the employee-facing taxonomy/topic. Employee Center uses taxonomy and connected content to control what users see.

So the preferred approach is:

This keeps the configuration OOTB-focused and avoids modifying the Employee Center widget or creating a custom filter just to hide Standard Changes.
