CCM Mapping Challenges
We are struggling with Foundational Data
- CMDB data for Service Accounts
- ServiceNow Cloud Unassigned Resources
- ServiceNow Cloud Insight Owners
- ServiceNow Cloud Tag Categories
- ServiceNow Cloud Tag Names
CCM Workspace usage
- Account to owner mappings
- There seems to be some reference to a change template
- Can’t tell if there is any automation/workflows that perform anything meaningful
- Recommendations
- New/Scheduled/Completed/Declined/Failed/Excluded?
- This appears to be missing/dependent on Foundational Data
- Unused Resources
- New/Scheduled/Completed/Declined/Failed/Excluded?
- This appears to be missing/dependent on Foundational Data
- Reservation/Savings Plans
- New/Scheduled/Completed/Declined/Failed/Excluded?
- This appears to be missing/dependent on Foundational Data
- Business Hours

- Job executions
- We have “Sale” data that needs to be filtered/saved
- We know there were issues with the jobs, but we are now only interested in current data

- We need the ability to have users access the dashboards and only see their data
- The options for filters appear to be “Global” Any “user” can be an “Owner” and All Groups defined are in the lists. This is terrible to attempt to navigate

- In the filters, we are seeing Sys ID is not valid in the report filter definitions
- One example - Top Predicted Savings by CI Owner

Hello,
Thanks for the post. Account owner mappings have a few purposes including providing visible to spend associate with account owner, as well as workflows for optimizations. When an optimization is generated, a change request is created and assigned to the resource owner. The optimization include a number of the bullet points you mention above: Recommendations, Unused Resources, Reservations, Business Hours, etc. Optimizations are presented in the change request, and if they are accepted, changes are automated to update configurations to drive down costs. Optimizations require additional configuration. If you are not seeing recommendations, then it's likely that CCM is not configured to generate recommendations. Once these jobs are configured that should solve the missing data issue.
In regards to the "Job Executions", we released the Cloud Infra Stack for CCM in the ServiceNow store in November. This new infrastructure significantly improved billing download times (5-10x performance improvement). Please note that this requires you to be on the latest SKU for CCM or SAM Enterprise (no additional cost, but you must have the latest version of the SKU. Please reach out to your account team as needed).
For filtering views of the workspace, please use the Cloud Insights Owner role. Documentation can be found here.
