When configuration item relationships are viewed in the Dependency View, they appear as shown in the attached image, with different relationship types such as:
Depends on :: Used by
Runs on :: Runs
Connects to :: Connected by, etc.
However, all the relationship lines are displayed in the same color. Is it possible to customize the line colors based on the relationship type?

Hi @Vijay Kumar4,
No it is currently not possible to configure different line colors based on the Relationship Type OOTB as far as I observed. The Dependency View allows you to configure the style of the Nodes (icons) heavily (based on CI class, status, etc.), but the Links (lines) share a global style. You can change the color/thickness for all lines in the map properties, but you cannot apply conditional logic to the lines themselves.
However maybe you have to do research on backend side like what is exactly configured or scripted beside the UI page of this view.
If you find my response helpful, mark it as helpful and accepted solution.
Regards,
Maham Tahir.

As I couldn't see my previous comments, I'm posting them again in case of.
I once used colored relationship lines it and had to look it up again as it's not an obvious one. That's the feedback Copilot give which i believe is still correct. Note that this solution depends on a plugin you might not have.
Short answer: use the Edge Colors table: bsm_edge_color.
In classic Dependency Views (the BSM map), you can assign a specific color to each CMDB relationship type by creating a record in Edge Colors [bsm_edge_color] and selecting the relationship Type (e.g., Depends on :: Used by) and the Color. Once saved, all Dependency Views will render those edges in the chosen color. [servicenow...ogspot.com]
Tip for context
Relationship types themselves are defined in Relationship type [cmdb_rel_type] and relationships are stored in CI Relationship [cmdb_rel_ci], but the color configuration for the map lives inbsm_edge_color, not in those tables. (Coloring is purely a visualization setting for the map.) [ServiceNow...ationships]
If you’re using Unified Map (CMDB Workspace)
ServiceNow has been moving styling and visualization to Unified Map in CMDB Workspace; that experience focuses on presets, filters, and admin settings rather than per‑type color overrides like the old BSM map. If you’re standardizing on Unified Map, look to its admin and appearance settings instead of bsm_edge_color. [servicenow.com], [servicenow.com], [servicenow.com]
