AWS Service Graph Connector

We have recently started to use the AWS Service Graph Connector to bring data into ServiceNow for the use in Service Maps.

It works fine and was easy to set up but it has shown us that the amount of data in AWS is too much to manage and is using our ITOM licences.

We pull a lot of data for Sandbox and Test accounts that we do not need to see in the CMDB.

What is the best case for managing this data out of CMDB and not using a ITOM License?

1. Restrict the graph connector to only Production accounts ensuring we only get data from AWS that we want?

or

2. If i was too archive the data i don't need using the data management module would this a suitable arrangement?

If anyone has any better ideas for managing this data please let me know,

Hi @Strong ,

It should be using the ITOM Licence in Prod Instance Only, if its using in Sandbox or any lower environment then there not cost will be involved.

Also you can check the Which import set running for get the Data from AWS, you can modify as per your requirement.

Refer the below for License Management.

The Sandbox and Test accounts are not my Sub Production instances of ServiceNow they are Cloud Service Accounts i am pulling across from AWS into my ServiceNow Instance.

What i would like to know is when i use the AWS Service Graph can i limit the amount of data i ingress by filtering out accounts that do not have production services in them.

Hi @Strong ,

You can definitely filter the at your Import set level or You can ask AWS Admin to to modify at there level which Service Account you want to pull.
