CIS - DF (CMDB & CSDM) Exam Preparation Tips

I just passed the CIS - DF (CMDB & CSDM) mainline exam this weekend, 2/14. It is definitely a beast, and the 75 questions in 90 minutes require setting the pace at a steady clip to get through all of them with a few minutes left to review, if needed.

I only used the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Fundamentals on-demand course in ServiceNow University and the micro-certification simulations included as part of it: Configure the CMDB Micro-Certification Simulator (Yokohama), and the CMDB Health Micro-Certification Simulator (Yokohama).

I also read the new CSDM 5 white paper, but in no way memorized it: https://www.servicenow.com/community/common-service-data-model/csdm-5-finally-get-the-csdm-5-white-p...

Other than that, a thorough understanding of all the content with the percentages emphasized in the exam blueprint will get you through: https://learning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/credentials/certified-implentation-specialist-data-foundation...

  • Governance — 35%
  • Insight — 20%
  • Ingestion — 19%
  • Configuration — 15%
  • CSDM Fundamentals — 11%

I took it online at home through Pearson VUE and had no issues, interruptions, or any other problems. It was a smooth experience.

Looking forward to taking the Architecture Excellence (ArchX) Program in April.

Good luck to all. You can do it!
