High Level CMDB Implementation steps
Discovery of assets via discovery or disco, once assets are discovered are they spit into the relevant CI Classes? and mapped to parent CI's, I'm thinking the first stages are to gather your data and associate them with business / technical services (CSDM) but then there are the extended CI's to consider.
When CI's are loaded with associated locations etc...are the relationships with associated services manually configured (in dev) As I've done this as part of the sys_admin course I am assuming it is. Does anyone have or can share those steps???

Hi @Philip Owen ,
If you are running discovery then it will populate ci on respective ci classes and stablish relationships among cis, you no need to do it manually, but it also have some limitations it can not mapped technical services or business services for that you have to implement csdm.
Accept the solution if it helped.

Discovery will create the appropriate operational CI's and/or Models for the assets it finds and it can create the relationships.
However, there are other CI classes it does not create (Business Caps, App Services, et al) and you will either need to create the CI records and prescribed relationships manually and leverage other available tools like Service Mapping to automate relationship mapping where possible.
