How to get only L1 relationships from Service Association CI table

I am working on a dashboard to show Business Application to Application Service relationships and need to filter only L1 (direct) relationships from the Service Association CI table.

In the Relationships UI, setting the max level to 1 shows only L1 relationships, but I am not sure how to achieve the same at the table level for reporting purposes.

Could you please advise:

  • Is there any field in the Service Association CI table that identifies L1 relationships?
  • If not, what is the recommended approach to get only direct (L1) associations for this dashboard?
Any guidance or best practice would be helpful.

Hi @MaheshArcot

Did you try the CMDB query builder for this?

Yes, I worked with the CMDB Query builder. Could you advise on how to apply a filter within the Service Association CI table?

Hi @MaheshArcot

You need to use the relationship table for this and then select relationship type.

Hi @MaheshArcot ,

This is exactly the use case for the CMDB query builder, as you can define exactly what table you would like to show based on which relationship.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.

Best regards
