Reclassify some IP Switch CIs to WAP network when name contains ex. -WL upon discovery

Hi, any tips would greatly appreciated. I have tried Post-Pre sensor scripts, Pattern extension , SNM Classifier with OID but all just work halfway. Its just created CIs on both classes. Is there someone here who has experienced this kind of task? We tried to avoid using of Business Rule thats why this took a while for me.

 

Any help or tips are much help for me.

I have a suggestion for you — check out the course Discovery Fundamentals on Demand on ServiceNow University.

Navigate to Module 4: Credentials and Behaviors, and specifically review:

  • Module 4.3 – Behaviors Demo (Video)

  • Module 4.4 – Router Discovery (Video)

These videos cover a use case where a Windows machine simulated as a Router through Discovery

You should particularly check how conditions are configured there. You may need to add or refine conditions in Device Classification to control the classification logic properly.
