Hello,
I'm trying to understand setting SSH credentials. Here the scenario.
I have an application I am trying to service map, but SSH authentication failed. It's asking for me to verify if the credentials are correctly defined for the host "application". I don't have any credential currently created for this application. The application is maintained by another person. Here are my questions:
Do I need to have external credential, then use the external credentials to create the ServiceNow SSH credentials?
Could someone walk me through the process?

Hi @Khill ,
You must needs to check configure credentials for SSH Device type, also that same credentials also having the read only access to your Application which is running on Linux Server as well as there are some commands which required Sudo access to run the Service Mapping.
Also please check the Service Mapping error and see the that are related to Linux Device Only, Sometime that error comes for Network type of device which we needs to ignore.

Hi @AJ-TechTrek
Let me make sure I understand. I need to create SSH credential for the application. Use that same credential to create SSH credentials in ServiceNow ?
How do I know which sudo command to use for service mapping?

Hi @Khill ,
Yes , you have to make sure which SSH credentials you are using that must have read only access to the application running on the Server.
Also refer the below document where Sudo privileged required for commands based the the OS of the Server.
