Suggest a Status for a Server

Hi Team,

I have a Template server which user uses whenever they want they keep active and after use they put on store, i wanted to give a status for that server. I would request to suggest a best status option which others can identify easily.(for easy identification of Non ITSM users).

Hi 

Use the below state:

New state :

Idle - The server is available but not in use.

Suggested Status Options:

1. Available

   • The server is currently available and ready for immediate use.

2. In Use

   • The server is currently being used by another user. This indicates that the template cannot be selected by others at this moment.

3. Reserved

   • The server has been reserved for future use by another user. This status indicates that the reserving user has priority to use it.

4. Storing

   • The server is not in use and has been stored after being used. This state means it is temporarily being kept until it is ready for the next use.

5. Maintenance

   • The server is undergoing maintenance and is currently unavailable for use. This status indicates that maintenance work is in progress and others should refrain from using it.

Summary

• Available: The server is ready for use.
• In Use: Being used by someone else.
• Reserved: Reserved for someone.
• Storing: Stored after use.
• Maintenance: Undergoing maintenance.

These status labels use simple and intuitive terms, avoiding technical jargon, which makes them easy to understand even for non-IT users.
