HI,
We have our business applications in the business application table. This includes home grown and commercial off the shelf (COTs).
How are teams distinguishing applications such as Salesforce or Workday from a home-grown application.

There is an OOB attribute for this called Application Type.

We weren't keen on the OOB choices under Application Type and amended them to Product, Customised Product and Bespoke.

This is a great question! I would also be interested to know how other teams are distinguishing applications such as Salesforce or Workday.
As I understand "commercial off the shelf (COTs)" and "SaaS", there may be some applications that are both COTS and SaaS, and SaaS applications that have undergone some degree of customisation so are not COTS.
Maybe a customised SaaS application would make the most sense as SaaS. With all other COTS applications using Application Type: COTS, regardless of whether they are SaaS or not.
But this does seem like a bit of a squeeze.
