Cloud-Services in CSDM

Hi there!

were and how are you documenting Cloud-Services within CSDM? or your CMDB?

I have a "basic idea" on how and were to store them... I mean like a CI-Class...

But I want to check if my "basic idea" is on the correct track... Please share your approaches!

so please, let me know on how you document Cloud Services within your CMDB.

Thank you!

Kind Regards

Sven

We just discussed that within our company and based on the ServiceNow example for ServiceNow I would suggest to create an application service for the cloud platform/service you are using. Connect this app. service to a business service and a technical service. If you track your business application as well connect it too. All other underlying CIs I wouldn't create, even if you know them, because you probably not responsible for them.

You can see the example here, well explained by ServiceNow it self.

thank you very much for sharing you approach and your thoughts! 🙂

thank you for providing this link!

I really have an issue with transfering this complete "new approach" to the current IT...

this Servicenow approach requires additional roles, and owners on different kind of levels..

"selling" this new approach to the Busines within to a company will be quite diffiycult...

hmmmm thank you so far for sharing you thoughts! really helpful for me.. also the link to the youtube video...
