operationalizes::operationlized by relationship for business process and business capabilities

Hi everyone

I'm looking to relate my Business Processes to Business Capabilities as per the CSDM 5 model, using the operationalizes::operationlized by relationship. But strangely the relationship isnt available in my instance, and i wondered if this is the same for others? Is there any dependencies on plugin's etc that anyone knows of? I've done a little research but couldn't find anything obvious so thought i'd check here before going any further...

Thanks all - hope you enjoy the weekend when it arrives for you 🙂

I don't have it either. Did you check which modules are maintaining this data? I believe the grey means that Business Processes are part of the Foundational domain, but not sure if that means that it will only show up with specific plugins, like IRM related ones (to identify business processes at risk).

Hi @jamiebanks

This CI Relationship Type doesn't exist in my PDI or any other instances I have logged into recently. ServiceNow don't typically include CI Relationship Types with additional products as they form part of the core CMDB package that comes with any instance of ServiceNow.

I suspect this might be in the whitepaper for v5 but not yet in the platform - another example is the change between Business App and Service Instance, which has changed from Consumes::consumed by to Uses::used by in the whitepaper, but the platform hasn't yet caught up and still expects Consumes::consumed by everywhere.

I hope this helps!

Hi @Mark Manders

It's not just updating the relationship types - lots of core scripting is still using the v4 relationship and that code belongs to ServiceNow, so we should expect that to be updated to meet the new recommended standard. I believe migration functionality is being developed to enable customers to migrate to v5 without having to customise, but I don't know when this will appear in the platform.
