Article group ownership

For Knowledge management - when changing article ownership from individual to group ownership, is it only possible to link the ownership group to an article template and the change can only be applied to articles created from the specified templates? This implies that all existing articles must be recreated to include the group ownership field.

Is it not possible to add the group ownership field to the article form and existing articles can simply be edited to add an ownership group?

Hi,

You don't need to recreate existing Knowledge Articles just to assign an Ownership Group.

After enabling Ownership Groups and making the Ownership Group field available on the Knowledge form, you can edit existing articles and populate the field. Article templates control the fields used when creating articles from those templates; they don't mean existing articles must be recreated.

For configuration details, see the ServiceNow documentation on Ownership Groups.

Please validate the publishing and approval behavior for existing articles before applying this change broadly.
